The Name of the Rose konusu
1327’nin İtalya’sında geçen roman, Fransisken mezhebi keşişi William of Baskerville ile Baskerville’ın çırağı, rahip adayı Adso of Melk’in, bir dizi gizemli cinayetin tanıkları oldukları Alpler’in tenha bir manastırında geçen hikayesini anlatıyor. Baskerville ve Melk, cinayetleri araştırıp katili ararken, kendilerini Papayı eleştirenlere karşı soruşturma açan acımasız sorgulayıcı, engizisyon mahkemesi üyesi Bernard Gui tarafından kovuşturulurken bulurlar.
